Ed Christman – Deacon for Life

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Ed Christman spent over 50 years on the campus of Wake Forest University, beginning as a student, then moving into his role as Assistant Chaplain and University Chaplain. Listen to him describe his call to ministry and the way he found the extraordinary in ordinary, everyday conversations. Hear him describe the inspiration of sacred space in Davis Chapel. Most of all, you’ll hear someone who definitely found his element in his life and work.

What a great treat to hear the voice that perhaps has shaped my life as much as any other! Thanks for allowing us to eavesdrop on your conversation!

I echo Don who says, the voice that helped to shape my life. Ed, you have touched so many! Thank you.

I loved hearing Ed’s voice, too. I remember him sharing the Robert McCracken story with me when I was deliberating myself about whether to go to law school or to seminary. Ed is a mentor and friend, and I am grateful for his wisdom, passion, and good humor. His life has been a gift to many!

Ed Christman is the authentic Wake Forest Demon Deacon in my view. His life and ministry has been a blessing to many and I’m thankful to include myself among those touched by his fun-loving commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
